In a kitesurfing lesson you receive real-time instructions over radio while you're in the water handling a kite: "bar centered", "kite at eleven o'clock", "wait... now give it power". If you have to mentally translate every instruction, your reaction time doubles — and on a kite, half a second of delay is the difference between a clean maneuver and a tumble.
