The shallow, flat lagoon of Óbidos is one of the safest places in the world to learn — waist-deep water, steady wind, and a calm setting that lets you focus on riding, not fear.
Most schools rotate instructors. You book three days and get three different people — and every morning starts over: explaining what you did yesterday, what scares you, what your body already knows how to do.
Here you always learn with me. By day two I know which hand you drop under pressure, what makes you tense up, and when you are ready to be pushed. You stop re-introducing yourself and just keep progressing.
I've been teaching and kitesurfing for more than 11 years, from this lagoon to Nazaré. The focus never changes: safety, real progress, and fun. I coach by radio helmet so I can correct you in the moment, and I only take you out when the forecast genuinely suits your level.
Add a calm, shallow lagoon to that, and you have the ideal setup to learn fast and feel confident on the water.

I've been teaching and kitesurfing for more than 11 years, from this lagoon to Nazaré, so I know which gear suits which rider. We'll look at your weight, your level, the spots you'll ride and where you want to go next — then pick the kite and board that actually fit.
We work with Airush and Core, and we put together course-and-equipment packages: your lessons plus a complete setup chosen for you, priced as one package rather than piece by piece. Ask me when you get to that point.

Hi, I'm Federico — an IKO Level 3 certified instructor with over 11 years and 5,000+ hours teaching kitesurfing in Lagune d'Óbidos and around the world.
Teaching is what I do best, and it's my full-time profession — but the ocean is also my life. In the Portuguese winters you'll find me chasing storms along the coast, surfing and kiting big waves in Nazaré and other extreme conditions. That experience in heavy water is exactly what makes me calm, patient and safety-obsessed when I'm teaching you in the flat, friendly lagoon.
I've worked with over 1,300 students of every age and background — always focused on helping people learn to ride safely, confidently, and with stoke. Whether it's your very first time holding a bar or you're coming back to level up, I'll meet you exactly where you are.
